Only been several days since I made the decision to put my first novel -“The Tribulations of Kharman” on the market. Whilst I regret not being able to hold a book launch, due to obvious reasons, I will continue to push as much attention towards my novel.
So far I’m rather pleased with the level of interest, praise and excitement I have received from a couple of family members, some friends, colleagues, and acquaintances. Although there hasn’t been many sales as I’d anticipated this would be the case I’m still rather positive with this milestone in my life. Others have offered to review my book. This may or may not make a difference so I’ll consider that option soon.
What’s Special About This Book?
I regard the novel I created as special. It’s primarily a sci-fi adventure and when you mention this to people they automatically think of Star Trek, Star Wars, aliens invading Earth, time travel, etc. While all these are excited films and troupes we all enjoy to watch my novel deviates further. It has a romantic/erotic element which is kept too a minimal and just one of the ingredients to drive the plot forward. It certainly isn’t a love story however it has that fragment of relationships and the complexity of dealing with others who look and behave a certain way that’s similar or even different from you. This story illustrates the culture clashes between the characters, namely Kharman and Evree, and their distrust and challenges in their lives.
While I appreciate there aren’t many places open to take your loved one, as over here in the UK lockdown is present from the moment this post was written, you can still make the most of the day. Amongst all the champagne, wine and good food bought make sure my book – “The Tribulations of Kharman” is among your reading list and sitting comfortably on your bookshelf.
