With the Sun finally out and the weather humid I can confirm, right here, in the UK, it’s finally Summer. Though I don’t expect it to last and yeah, you can call me cynical. We’ll probably have a couple of weeks, perhaps a day or two before the gloomy weather returns. We may even get a thunderstorm. So I’ve been enjoying the sunshine and soaking it up, getting that Vitamin E, an essential mineral, and with a few days off work I may as well.
I’m not trying to become lazy or even forget my personal work. A few days away from my workplace is something I look forward to and if you’re a regular of the site then you’ll notice a few changes.
Now For The Goals
I’ve used the time to set some goals, whilst even waiting for my book review of “The Tribulations of Kharman”, I’ve had to readjust my plan. Initially I was going to do a graphic novel and the second novel to the Kharman series but I’ve had to rethink a lot of thinks. Most people are well aware that comics and graphic novels are usually produced by a small team. As I’m working on my own, things will be tougher, and after giving it much thought, I’ve decided to just focus on doing an unrelated comic series instead. This’ll make life easier for me so the graphic novel will be shelved for now, and, as someone who hasn’t created one since my time at university I’m confident I will create one again.
The comic, which is unrelated to the Kharman universe, is currently in development and the aim is to have it finished before the end of the year. Also the second Kharman and Evree book (I will post its official title soon) is still on course but should be finished near the end of this year, so I don’t exactly have an option to abandon that project.
Be More Secretive

I’ve started putting the concept work in for the comic. I’ll abstain from posting my designs on Instagram and other sites including my blog until the work is finalized and the product is out. You’ll notice minimal uploads now if you follow my other page, lone_star_illusions, on Instagram, which is mostly due to me being busy. The other reason why I won’t post much on there is I don’t want people stealing my ideas and artwork I’ve slaved over for hours. I know it still happens. Other artists, who may even be more established than me, and studios, who won’t even bother to employ you, tend to be the culprits. So things will be under wraps and I suggest anyone who is a new-undervalued artist/illustrator or even a writer, to be more cautious with whom you share/show your ideas with. Even when I was writing the, “The Tribulations of Kharman”, people were asking me what it was about and my response was “I can’t tell you a lot”. You tell people some information but not too much, just enough to entice people’s interest when work is unpublished. If you tell them your whole story than you may as well give them the book for free.
