Thoughts on Benjamin Zephaniah & The Editing Phase

Free open book photo

I’ll start off by offering my condolences to the late Benjamin Zephaniah and his family and friends. I was startled when I heard that the famous poet, passed away suddenly last week. I wasn’t even aware he was 65 years old. Didn’t think he was that old or that young and, to me, that is still too early to pass away. I read some of his poetry growing up, which had some influence on me when I was writing poetry. My fond memories of Benjamin Zephaniah was when he appeared on panels and expressed his political views and challenged anyone who diametrically opposed or offended him. He had a strong political stance particularly when it came to the monarchy and Britain and he never waived. Totally honest. This was something we should all admire and younger generations can look up to.

Happier news now and as the weather gets colder and 2023 comes to a close my manuscript of my second novel is in the hands of an editor and I am hoping she does a decent job in correcting any of my mistakes, considering how much money I have paid her. The deadline will be this Christmas Eve when she has agreed to hand it back and where I will commence another review of the edited manuscript prior to publication. Once it’s out there it is out there! With regard to other published material I do notice a few grammatical errors and typos so understand that this is a tough errand. Again, I have spent a lot of money on getting it edited so i would appreciate it if you all went out to buy it once it’s released. The same with my first novel, I want to increase sales so i would appreciate anyone reading this to make a purchase of my first novel and it is here. Just click on this link. It’d make a decent Christmas present.
